October 1, 2025 was our first official day at Infinity. The building was the same. The team was the same. The machines were the same, with several of them in the middle of jobs that had to ship that week. Nothing about that Wednesday looked different from the Tuesday before it, but a lot was happening.
Infinity was founded in 1998 by Richard Marx and Michael Knier, starting with two wire EDM machines and a small hole driller in 2,700 square feet. Rich ran the shop for 27 years. What he and the team built here — the technical depth, and the willingness to work hard — was never something to reorganize. It was the reason we wanted to continue the legacy.
A year on, we're proud of the changes, and of what stayed.
We finished the digitization the shop had started
In October 2025 we moved the website onto a new platform, and streamlined access to key data: capability specs, the EDM material compatibility reference, and quality documentation.
In April 2026 we went live on a new ERP system. Orders now generate milestone notifications as they move, so you hear that your job has been received, released, and shipped without having to ask.
Most recently we moved time entry onto the floor, at the machine, where the work happens. That sounds like an internal detail, and it is, but it speeds up the answers you get when you call. Job status now reflects what happened on the floor minutes ago, not what someone remembers from the morning meeting.
We certified the quality system
Infinity earned ISO 9001:2015 certification in February 2026, through System Certification Body, an ANAB-accredited registrar. The certificate is available for download at https://www.infinityedm.com/quality.
The discipline was already here. Certification documented it, which streamlines qualification as a supplier. Internally it committed us to a corrective action process that goes after root cause rather than symptoms.
We qualified to take controlled work
We implemented the NIST SP 800-171 security practices behind CMMC, and we are registered in SAM with a CAGE code. This is unglamorous work — access controls, system boundaries, documented policies — and none of it makes a part any more accurate, but it greatly improves our security posture, critical to our government and commercial customers.
We refreshed the brand
Infinity has a strong market presence that we're proud to grow. As part of developing our new webpage and updating documentation, we updated our brand with a new wrench or "C" logo and the tagline "A never ending focus on excellence."
What didn't change
We are still the team that answers the phone with solutions to your hardest manufacturing problems. We still come through when your project is too large, too important, or too complex for the other guy. Reach out to learn more.
